We don’t need much of an introduction today. With Valentines just around the bend, it’s the best time of year to whip out your sketchbook and pencils and start doodling the night away! Well, not _all _night, because… well, romance…
1.Doodling Is An Expression Of Love
Every time you pick up the doodling gear and set to work, you are showing love to yourself by taking the time out of your busy day to do something you love! What better time of year to do that is there than Valentines?
Watch the video below to learn exactly HOW TO CREATE awesome love doodle art!
2.You Can Gift Your Doodles
That’s right! Who want’s store bought gifts when you can hand craft something?! A steamy doodle or a sweet one, the choice is yours, but it’s something you can gift to your partner to get everybody in the mood for love!
3.A Tale As Old As Time…
Ok, we’re not going to go too Disney with this, but the point is Valentines cards have been a major part of history. Valentines Day has been celebrated since the 14th Century! Hand drawn cards, love notes, and flowers were popular back then, but why can’t doodling be the next addition to Valentines traditions?
4.It’s Not All About Romantic Love!
Valentines day has become increasingly celebrated with friends, family, even your pets! Pick a special someone, even if it’s your dog, and doodle something sweet. We can imagine a puppy carrying a bouquet in his mouth, but we’ll leave it up to you to get creative with!
5.Your Doodles Could Be A Romance Treasure Map…
This is a fun little idea we thought we’d throw in! How about doodling a series of clues for your lover to follow? Doodles of different places around the house leading to another, then another, then another. At the end could be a gift! We’re not telling you what the gift should be, but after all that time spent doodling there’s no reason the gift can’t simply be you…
6.You Could Doodle Something Permanent!
If your partner is willing of course, and it was something they liked already, you could even doodle out their next tattoo! Think about it, what’s more romantic than receiving a doodle from your lover that you can keep forever? Or, if you’re not sure that would work, why not frame it so they have it in a safe place?
7.Tell A Story
Valentines has always been about stories. Every year on the 14th February individual couples celebrate their personal love story! Well, why not immortalize your love story in a book and doodle the best bits from your romance so far!
8.Create A Good Old Fashioned Schoolgirl Love Note
Remember back in school when people used to gift valentines cards and it used to be the gossip for the rest of the day? Love should make you feel young and silly just like it did back then! So get out the pencils and hideously bright marker pens and create an old fashioned love note – the sort you would have sent to your partner if you had met at school!
9.It’s A Time To Express How You Feel
Even if it’s just to your friend, or your mom, or a co-worker, use this time to doodle something meaningful. Add a few words and you can tell someone how special they are to you without having to buy a thing!
10.Fill The World With Love (Or Your House At Least)
We decorate for Christmas. We decorate for Halloween. But we rarely decorate for Valentines day! Treat yourself this month by producing so many romantic doodles that you can cover your windows in them!
Dot them around your house and spread love further than ever before…
You _should _have enough time if you start now. 3, 2, 1, GO!
